"Metropolitan Hotel" 4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June, 2018 on tripadvisor

Six of us had to travel for a family funeral. We were all situated in the hotel in rooms beside each other. The rooms were bright and clean. Very central location. The staff on the reception could not have done enough for us, especially Marie who very kindly helped us with printing our boarding cards for the return journey and also for directing us around Sheffield. The other staff (names I didn't get) were so helpful in ordering a six seater taxi on a number of occasions and the taxi's came very promptly due to the central location of the hotel. If we are in Sheffield again, we would rebook this hotel.

Brought my friend here for her birthday surprise, free check out until 12pm which was perfect for us, very close to the city centre, friendly reception staff, and good price! Would recommend to anyone!

Stayed here last night with 2 friends. Lovely large rooms with comfy beds. The 3rd bed was a fold out one, but excellent standard. All the staff were very helpful and very good tasty breakfast. Thank you.

Stayed here in a twin room on a Saturday night. Arrived by train and it was only a 5 minute walk from the main train station. Rooms were great as were the staff checking you in. Car park next door also. Breakfast was also great with lots of choice. Would deffently book again.

"Golden Wedding Celebration" 4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April, 2018 on tripadvisor

We had a family of 18 people for a celebration meal and overnight stay at the Sheffield Metropolitan. We were given help by the hotel in planning the menu, distribution of bedrooms, decorating of the function room, parking and any other detail we needed help with. We were given very personal service and nothing was too much trouble for them The food was excellent, 3 courses each with 3 choices, and each of those 9 were all used and thoroughly appreciated by all the different age groups. The bedrooms were all newly decorated with new carpets and at one point in the afternoon, all 18 of us ended up in our bedroom, so you can tell it was a good size. All the staff seemed to be cheerful and very helpful. We felt like royalty during our stay. I believe this personal touch is part of their ethos. We hope we will be able to make a return visit as a couple at some time in the future.

"By the quays" 4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March, 2018 on tripadvisor

I stayed for a visit to Victoria Quays. The hotel is ideally located for that. Check in wasn't ready when I arrived at 2.15 and I was told check in was from 3 though my confirmation said 2. However after a coffee and about 15 minutes they were ready. Room is large (411) and comfortable. Bathroom had a shower over tub and was very good. I would certainly stay again though there are options closer to city centre if that is what you need.

We stayed here in February and found this to be a great value hotel and very close to the city centre, I believe it offers parking nearby and breakfast if required. Rooms were nice and tidy with plenty of space and comfy beds

"Brilliant place to stay" 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March, 2018 on tripadvisor

Stayed here with my 2 children and father in a separate room, they knew we were together so gave us inter joining rooms. Rooms were great, clean, new carpets, and spacious. I managed to get a parking spot right outside which cost £5,50 for 24 hours. 10 mins walk into the centre or hop on the tram less than 5 mins walk away. Breakfast was ample and hot. Staff were friendly and helpful. I Would definitely stay here again. No Faults at all

"Cheap and cheerful" 4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18th February, 2018 on tripadvisor

Booked this hotel for a valentines night out, in from Sheffield and wanted a place to stay with with girlfriend. Best value for money hotel when comparing. In the centre but still a short taxi ride to West Street (£5)

Hotel was clean and lovely and we was on top floor with a decent view, over the Wicker and Spital Hill, but overall very nice and convenient.

Not many parking spaces but there’s a NCCP car park which is £6 for 24 hours literally next to the hotel.
